Conclusions...

So... After many layers of kodatraces and exploring different colours I managed to get back in the printroom and free myself of creative energy!

This is what I managed to come up with... I love exploring the layers and the process of building colour to create a richer design. Many designs have evolved from my original drawings and I can start to picture them enlarged and play with scale to create full wallpapers or furnishing fabrics!

Been a busy few weeks to get a head start on the new design project... I have been working on some new drawings to inspire me and creating new compositions to transform into prints! Just been working on smaller ones at the moment but the process will begin to create full lengths of wallpapers and coverings!

I have been using different mediums and papers to create new designs. I started working on cutting and creating new compositions by combining similar drawings and adding new lines or marks to change the overall design...

Will be loads more coming soon as I start this new project. Hoping to do some location drawings and take some inspirational images very shortly!

In other news, I will be entering the Print Odyssey 2012 with some artist prints, very excited for this! Hoping to be able to exhibit some work once submitted!

Also been working on some screen-printing in my own time. I felt like I needed something more practical and hands-on! Just some small card designs and prints mainly for a hand-printed gift for Mothers Day!

New beginnings...

Been a while since I posted anything... It has been a busy couple of weeks of drawing but been lovely to be in the studio and expressing my techniques. New project has begun already and I am very much looking forward to translating some of these more recent drawings into prints!

I have really enjoyed being expressive with these fragile structures and organic forms... My next project will be based mainly on interior markets trying out some designs for wallpaper and interior fabrics! Very exciting...

Drawing!

After a very busy week of drawing for design, family events and composing ideas for future plans, I thought I would share some of my new drawings that I will be developing very soon!

I think these are some drawings that provide me with a good base to develop and work into new designs for the future! I have mainly worked with pencil and introduced new materials such as paint and charcoal to highlight different areas and tones. The drawings are taken from studying organic forms...

I have really enjoyed this week, getting back to basics in the studio. As the week developed I starting working with other techniques such as collage and paper cutting to emphasise some of the more delicate forms.
